Lin Wei smiled softly after catching his implied meaning.
“I actually hadn’t thought of that.”
He gently brushed Huo Qijun’s flushed handsome face with one hand, unable to resist bending down to plant a kiss on his lips, then murmured, “In my plan, you shouldn’t have to use that.”
“…?!!!”
Huo Qijun was initially taken aback, his expression blank, and it took several seconds before his pupils constricted as he quickly raised his head to look at him.
Lin Wei maintained his gentle smile, merely raising an eyebrow to indicate that he wasn’t mistaken; that was indeed what he meant.
No… wait…
Huo Qijun felt his mind going blank. Although Fang Yueyue had already prepared him for this question, he hadn’t really taken it seriously.
Lin Wei usually indulged him in everything, big or small, and Huo Qijun had hardly seen this side of him, despite not being completely unaware.
Ever since Lin Wei adeptly withstood all of his mother’s relentless tactics, Huo Qijun had begun to sense that Lin Wei wasn’t as harmless as he usually appeared; he was polite to everyone out of courtesy, and this gentleness could easily be withdrawn at any moment. The initiative in their interactions was always in Lin Wei’s hands.
However, Lin Wei treated him so well that Huo Qijun found it hard to discern the subtle difference between obedience and indulgence.
Now he finally understood.
“I, I… actually…!” Huo Qijun intended to say he wasn’t mentally prepared for this at all, but the words nearly turned into, “Well, it’s not impossible,” scaring him into quickly shutting his mouth.
Seeing Huo Qijun’s nervousness, Lin Wei didn’t press him further, instead continuing to unpack his suitcase casually, saying softly, “Alright, I won’t force you. Just relax. If you’re unwilling, consider this a simple outing to unwind; it’s okay.”
When Huo Qijun heard the words ‘force you,’ he instinctively swallowed nervously, his gaze flickering. Only after hearing the complete sentence did he roll his eyes at Lin Wei; was there really no issue with a grown man wanting to roll in the sheets with his boyfriend?
“Why are you so calm? Aren’t you afraid I won’t be able to handle it?” he asked, pursing his lips.
Lin Wei shrugged, hanging the clothes in the closet as he replied, “Overthinking doesn’t help. Some things just need to unfold naturally; time will reveal the outcome.”
He didn’t necessarily want Huo Qijun to compromise, just using this way to tell him that he hadn’t made preparations either, so there was no need to rush and no need to doubt whether there was a flaw in their relationship.
However, Huo Qijun’s thought process on this matter had never quite synced with his.
He thought Lin Wei’s so-called unwillingness to pressure him was just an excuse to back away whenever it suited him under the pretense of ‘for his own good.’
“You really are destined to mess with me!” Huo Qijun closed his eyes and lay back on the bed, removing his glasses and squeezing his temples as he muttered, “Let me think it over.”
In truth, he wasn’t particularly resistant; he had just been imagining it all wrong. Now he needed to readjust to this feeling of disparity, but even the thought of swapping positions with Lin Wei made Huo Qijun’s fingertips tingle with embarrassment, causing him to involuntarily curl up.
Lost in his thoughts, he suddenly felt a darkness over his eyes; it was Lin Wei’s hand gently covering them.
“You really are messing with me!” Lin Wei sighed in resignation and said, “Stop thinking; let me figure it out.”
He was nearly indicating that he would yield, just that it required time. As his words settled, Huo Qijun clearly felt the eyelashes beneath Lin Wei’s palm fluttering.
Taking a deep breath, Huo Qijun grasped Lin Wei’s wrist, pulling his hand away from his eyes. Without his glasses, his vision was slightly blurred; he instinctively grabbed Lin Wei’s collar to pull him a bit closer.
“Actually… it’s not impossible.” He gritted his teeth, finally letting those words slip that embarrassed him deeply.
Lin Wei looked at him earnestly, seeming to determine whether there was any reluctance in Huo Qijun’s statement.
Unsure of what expression he wore at that moment, Huo Qijun figured he might be assessed by Lin Wei’s typically conservative nature, thus he raised his hand to his tie, unhurriedly loosening it. After the tie was slackened, he began to unbutton his shirt, one button, two buttons… when he reached the third button, Lin Wei grasped his hand, stopping him from going further.
“What are you doing?” Huo Qijun provocatively lifted his chin, a teasing spark in his eyes. “I already agreed; don’t tell me you still can’t?”
Most men cannot stand the phrase “can’t,” but Lin Wei wasn’t persuaded by it. Instead, he countered, “It’s still broad daylight; are you sure you want to continue?”
Huo Qijun didn’t care about that. He had a sense of shame, but it didn’t apply here: “Who says you can’t during the day?”
“Then don’t regret it.” Lin Wei chuckled, finding the switch on the bedside to dim the lights and close the curtains; the room plunged into shadow, yet it remained bright enough to see.
The first time was bound to be long and stretched their limits; it wasn’t long before the sound of someone gasping filled the room.
“Should we stop?”
“We’ve come this far. Stop? Hurry up!”
“Then hold on…”
“Less chit-chat!”
……
After that, the noises gradually merged into the sound of the waves, swaying along with the sea breeze as it fluttered the curtains.
Huo Qijun felt that all the frantic emotions he had ever experienced in his life were probably exhausted within those first two hours; as for what followed…
It felt fine, I guess!
He felt too embarrassed to admit that he enjoyed it so much that his mind grew foggy, and he unconsciously let slip some obscenity, wishing afterward he could forget it immediately.
In the end, he simply closed his eyes, succumbing to fatigue and drifting off to sleep.
Lin Wei leaned back against the headboard, watching him sleep, stretching out a hand carefully to tuck him in, and then quietly gazed at him for a moment.
For the first time, he realized that the feeling of affection doesn’t always progress gradually; it can truly erupt at certain moments, exploding in his chest, making him feel as if he could no longer sense anything else.
